BRODHEAD - Larry E. Haberman, age 60, of Brodhead, passed away unexpectedly on Friday, April 10, 2009, at Mercy Hospital, Janesville. He was born on January 1, 1949 in Monroe, WI, the son of Robert Sr. and Marjorie (Bliss) Haberman. He married Kathy A. Moore on April 29, 1967 in Brodhead.
Larry had farmed with Pierce Farms of Brodhead and Alfred Kryder. He then worked for the Beloit Corp. for 28 years and for the past 7 years, had been working for Stoughton Trailers of Brodhead. He loved woodworking, the outdoors, traveling to the Smoky Mountains, his family, and especially his grandchildren.
He is survived by his wife, Kathy, Brodhead; mother, Marjorie Tessendorf, Monroe; a son, Michael, two daughters, Michelle (Mike) Hauser, Mindy (Nick) Walters, all of Brodhead; five brothers, James, Footville, Richard (Teresa), Janesville, Robert, and Dennis (Cindy) both of Brodhead, Brian, Monroe; a sister, Vicki (Rick) Dix, Brodhead; four grandchildren, Sierra Haberman, Payton Hauser, Dakota and Brant Walters; a sister-in-law, Peggy Haberman, Wyoming, MI; and several nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his father, step-father, Hank Tessendorf, a brother, Jeffery, a sister, Barbara Bandi, and sisters-in-law, Lynn and Shirley Haberman.
Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Wednesday, April 15, 2009, at the D.L. NEWCOMER FUNERAL HOME, BRODHEAD, WI, with Rev. Steve Groves officiating. Burial will be in Greenwood Cemetery, Brodhead. Visitation will be held on Tuesday from 5 p.m. until 8 p.m. at the funeral home. A memorial fund will be established.
