Keith Louis Baertschi, age 56, of Argyle, WI passed away unexpectedly at his home on Sunday, October 13, 2013. He was born August 15, 1957, the son of Louis J. and Hilda E. (Zimmerman) Baertschi in Monroe, WI. Keith graduated from Monroe High School in 1975. He was united in marriage to Gloria A. Breisath on September 8, 1979, at Grace Lutheran Church in Monroe. Keith grew up in rural Monroe and after graduating he started farming in the Monticello and Argyle areas until 1999. Keith then worked for various construction companies until his current position as the Green County YMCA maintenance manager. He also worked at the Argyle Recycling Center.
Keith is survived by his wife: Gloria, at home; daughter: Amanda (James) Trumble of Brooklyn, WI; son: David Baertschi of Winona, MN; three brothers: Leon (Susan) Baertschi, Willard, MO, Lawrence Baertschi of Springfield, MO, and Kelvin (Sandy) Baertschi of rural Argyle; and many loving extended family members. He was preceded in death by his parents; a sister: LouAnn Baertschi; and his father-in-law: Howard Breisath.
Keith was a member of Yellowstone Lutheran Church in rural Argyle. He was a former Argyle Village Board Trustee and very active in his local community. He was also a member of the Falcon Club of America. If any person needed something done, Keith was always there willing to help. He spent many hours creating various crafts, barn quilts, and making old things like new again. Keith will be sadly missed and fondly remembered by his family and friends.
Funeral services will be held Thursday, October 17, 2013 at 11:00 A.M. at Yellowstone Lutheran Church in rural Argyle, WI (4472 Saints Road, Blanchardville, WI 53516) with Rev. Daniel L. Bohlman officiating. Burial will be at Yellowstone Lutheran Church Cemetery in rural Argyle. A visitation will be held Wednesday, October 16, 2013 from 4:00 P.M. until 8:00 P.M. at Erickson Funeral Home in Argyle (801 East Milwaukee Street, Argyle).
