Keith Allen Holloway
Monroe native Keith Allen Holloway, 73, died of cancer Aug. 4, 2009, at his home in Anchorage, Alaska. Keith was born to the late Cecil and Emmeline Holloway on Feb. 27, 1936, in Washington Township. After high school Keith entered the Air Force and achieved the rank of Chief Master Sergeant and retired with 29 years of service to his country. Keith arrived in Alaska in 1978 and became a resident of Anchorage. After retirement from the U.S. Air Force in 1984, Keith went to work with the U.S. Postal Service and retired in 2002. Keith's hobbies included sports, military history, malaprops, playing Yass, and spending time with his friends.
His family wrote: "Keith was dedicated to his family and was a friend to all, and willing to talk with anyone, but especially with someone from Wisconsin. He was a huge sports fan, with encyclopedic knowledge. His support for Alaska's sports programs were surpassed only by his loyalty to the Packers and Badgers."
He is survived by his wife, Meta Holloway; daughter, Connie Speck and her husband, Marc Speck; son, Marty Holloway and his wife, Lynn Hunter; son, Clinton Holloway and his wife April Holloway; and grandchildren, Rebecca and Matthew Speck, Hunter Holloway and Wesley Holloway.
The arrangements were handled by Witzleben Funeral Home. Keith was buried with military honors at Fort Richardson National Cemetery. His online obituary is at Legacy.com.
