Kathryn J. Becker, age 90 of Monroe, died Friday, March 22, 2013 at her home. She was born on September 13, 1922 in rural Monticello, the daughter of Jacob and Johanna (Ingold) Stauffer. She graduated from Monticello High School, Green County Normal School and she received her B.S. in Education from Whitewater Teachers College. Kathryn married Ed Becker on June 25, 1950 in Monticello. She taught in Monroe Schools for many years, retiring in 1983. She was a member of St. John's United Church of Christ. She enjoyed spending time with her family, enjoyed raising and selling garden products, and making maple syrup.

She is survived by her 4 children: Roger (Jill Gille) Becker of Monroe, Marvin (Darlene) Becker of Juda, Jim (Kathy) Becker of Monroe, and Mary Kay (Randy) Zemlicka of Monroe; 9 grandchildren: Macy of FL, Jacob of NY, Marcus of MN, Kim of Monroe, Brittney & Brianna both of Monroe, Karen (Corey) Shenk of PA, Stephen Zemlicka of TX, Adam Zemlicka of Potosi, WI and 2 great-grandchildren Isaiah and Elijah Shenk; a brother-in-law, William Borchart of Menasha, WI. She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, Edward, brothers, John and Robert Stauffer, and sister, Marian Borchart.

A memorial service will be held at 11:00 a.m. Thursday, March 28, 2013 at St. John's United Church of Christ with Rev. William T. Mike Heath and Randy Zemlicka officiating. Burial will be in Greenwood Cemetery Monroe at a later date. A visitation will be held from 4:00 to 7:00 p.m. Wednesday, March 27, 2013 at Shriner Hager Gohlke funeral home. A memorial fund will be established.
