Kathleen "Sue " Hollis, age 75 of Belleville-Dayton, passed away peacefully in her sleep on Saturday, February 25, 2012 at the New Glarus Home after a long battle of diabetes. She was born in Chicago on July 26, 1935, the daughter of James and Helen (Rose) Coffey. Sue spent her summers as a camp counselor at the Leota School in Evansville. In 1954 she met the love of her life Wilbur Hollis. They were married on February 19, 1955 at the First United Church of Christ, Belleville. The couple had just celebrated their fifty seventh anniversary. Sue was a farm wife first of all and had worked at Dormann Cheese Corporation of Monroe and was a cook at the Dayton Hideway for many years. Sue was a Girl Scout Leader for over twenty five years. She was the resident baby sitter for almost all the kids in Dayton and their kids. She was a wonderful wife, mother and grandmother, always lending an ear and giving advice, finding the good in all people.

Survivors include: her husband Wilbur, Daughter in Law Lisa Hollis, Daughters Donna (Colin) Ace of Belleville, Jeanine (Gordy) Krueger of New Glarus, Jodi Hollis of Belleville. Six grandchildren; Ryan (Sara) Krueger, Brett (Cindy) Krueger, Thomas (Katie) Krueger, Cory Krueger all of New Glarus, Harley and Summer Hollis of Belleville ,a sister Carol (Ray) Lang of Indiana ,her very best friend, Mary (Archie) Lange of Evansville.

She was preceded in death by her son Tim, her parents James and Helen Coffey, her father-in-law and mother-in-law Cloyce and Genevieve Hollis, her sister Janice Manasek, sister-in-law and brother-in-law and nieces and nephews.

Special thanks to Dr. Richard Roberts and the Belleville Clinic staff, the New Glarus Nursing Home and its staff, Pastor Heidi Walker-Hackman and the Lettman Family.

She will be deeply missed by her family, friends and all people who knew her.

Funeral services will be held on Wednesday evening February 29, 2012 at 7:00 p.m. at the First United Church of Christ, 130 East Church St. Belleville, with Pastor Heidi Walker-Hackman officiating. Relatives and friends may call 4 p.m. to 7 p.m. at the church on Wednesday.
