K. Robert "Bob" Larson, age 89 of Blanchardville died on Friday afternoon, June 10, 2011 at the New Glarus Home. He was born on January 6, 1922 in rural Blanchardville to Palmer & Ida (Watrud) Larson. He attended the Ingwell country school near Blanchardville, and graduated from the Blanchardville High School in 1939. He grew up on the family farm, and farmed with his parents. He was married on February 27, 1944 at the Trinity Lutheran Church to LaVonne Erickson. They farmed on both the Larson homestead until 1955, and then the Erickson homestead until 1974 when they moved to Blanchardville. In his retirement years he enjoyed cleaning for several people and businesses. Bob and LaVonne enjoyed dancing and traveling in later years. LaVonne died on August 13, 1999. Robert continued cleaning for others up until two months before his death. Bob also loved playing cards around the area. For the last several years Bob enjoyed traveling the Madison, New Glarus and Monroe area and dancing with his special friend Eunice Brabender of Marshall.

Robert is survived by his brother, Doral "Red" (Arlene) Larson of Verona; several nieces and nephews and their families; and special friend Eunice Brabender of Marshall. He was preceded in death by his parents, and his wife LaVonne.

Funeral services will be held on Thursday, June 16, 2011 at 11:00 AM at the Trinity Lutheran Church in Blanchardville. Rev. Mark Gruner of the Pecatonica Lutheran Parish will officiate. Burial will be in the Graceland Cemetery in Blanchardville. Visitation will be held on Wednesday evening, June 15, 2011 from 4:00 until 8:00 PM at the Saether Funeral Home in Blanchardville.
