June H. Zweifel, New Glarus, died unexpectedly on Wednesday, May 25, 2011 at the Monroe Clinic Hospital. She had a healthy and fulfilling life since her birth on June 12, 1920 and would have celebrated her ninety-first birthday in a few weeks. On October 11, 1944, she was united in marriage to Ivan N. Zweifel in Madison, WI. June lived independently during the many years following the passing of her husband in 1984. Prior to her retirement she worked at Anderson's Ben Franklin (formerly Uffelman's Variety Store) for a number of years. After retirement, she was a dedicated volunteer at the New Glarus Home for almost twenty years. June 'walked the Words of God' and appreciated all of God's creations. She enjoyed watching and feeding birds in her backyard. June was also a fond lover of cats and dogs. June was a person who 'believed in people,' always trying to see the good in them. She was a very giving person and loved unconditionally and was grateful for the assistance provided to her. June was involved with the Belleville Senior Citizen's Group and looked forward to seeing her friends on Fridays. June appreciated seeing smiles on children's faces and her family were her pride and joy. She treasured the time spent with them.
