ALBANY - June Demares Trow, age 88, passed away peacefully on Wednesday, February 3, 2010, at Mercy Hospital in Janesville surrounded by family.
June was born on October 23, 1921 in Chicago, Illinois, the daughter of Austin and Frances (Jorgensen) Karnuth. She graduated from Steinmetz High School in 1939 and married Arthur Houlberg May 1, 1942. In 1953 they and their 5 children moved to a farm outside of Albany. He preceded her in death in 1969. November 19, 1972 she married Charles Edward Trow in Albany where they united their two families. She was a member of the Albany United Methodist Church and had been a member of the Naomi Circle, served as church treasurer and was Sunday school teacher and superintendent. Her family was the center of her life.
She is survived by her husband Edward and children, Norman Houlberg of Janesville, Karen (Russell) Rindsig of Rice Lake, Wayne (Linda) Houlberg of Oak Ridge, Tennessee, Dean (Debbie) Houlberg of Albany, Keith (Debbie) Trow, Doreen (Jose) Guzman and Bill (Ann) Trow of Evansville, Sharon (Curt) Golz of Albany and Shirley (Steve) Baertschi of Janesville; 23 grandchildren; 16 great-grandchildren; and a brother, Austin (Bud) Karnuth of Kaneohe, Hawaii. She was preceded in death by her parents; husband Arthur Houlberg and son Glenn Houlberg.
Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. on Monday, February 8, 2010 at the United Methodist Church in Albany with Reverend Pat Soddy officiating. Burial will follow in Hillcrest Cemetery, Albany, Wisconsin. Friends may call from 2 p.m. until 5 p.m. on Sunday, February 7, 2010 at the Ward Funeral Home, 130 South 5th St., Evansville, Wisconsin.
