Juanita (Toodie) Zweifel

Juanita (Toodie) Zweifel, formerly of Monroe, passed away on Tuesday, December 23, 2014, surrounded by her family. Juanita was born on July 23, 1927, in Chicago, Illinois, to Edward and Beatrice (Anderson) Mulligan. She grew up in Monroe, WI, and graduated from Monroe High School in 1945. As a young woman she worked at the Monroe Train Depot. Juanita and Duane Zweifel were married on April 3, 1948. Together they farmed near Albany and Juda from 1948-1967. In 1968, they created and worked together at Zweifel Construction until Duane's death in 1989. Juanita also worked in the gift shop of the Swiss Colony Inn in the late 1960s.

Juanita enjoyed spending time with her family. She spent winters at her home in Ft. Myers Beach, FL. Her hobbies were walking, reading, golfing, playing cards and dancing.

Juanita is survived by her daughters, Cathy Nevens, Franklin, WI and Kay Horn (Vilas Rasmussen), of Oconomowoc, WI; her granddaughters, Kate (Jack) Cervilla, Richfield, MN, and Laura Nevens, Tempe, AZ; and her great-grandchildren Sam and Skylar Cervilla, Richfield, MN. She is also survived by her sisters, Darlyne Daley, Verna (Jim) Clark, Rita Brunner, and her brothers, Frank (Lou) Mulligan, Tom (Kate) Mulligan, Jim (Arlene) Mulligan, Bill (Linda) Mulligan, and her sisters-in-law Julia Mulligan and Terri Mulligan. Juanita is survived by numerous nieces and nephews, extended family and dear friends.

Juanita was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, Duane, an infant granddaughter, brothers, Claire and Wayne Mulligan, sister, Evelyn McGinley, her in-laws, Robert and Mabel Zweifel, Melvin and Jean Zweifel, Marceda Grueschow, Spencer McGinley, George Daley, and Richard Brunner.

Funeral services will be held on Saturday, December 27, 2014 at 1:00 p.m. at Shriner-Hager-Gohlke Funeral Home 1455 Mansion Dr., and N. 18th Avenue in Monroe with pastor Randy Booth officiating. Burial will follow in Greenwood Cemetery.

Visitation will be December 27th from 11:00 a.m. until time of service at the funeral home.
