SHULLSBURG - John L. Bredeson, age 58 of Shullsburg, WI, was called to eternal rest on July 27, 2015 at Agrace Hospice in Fitchburg after a feisty battle with brain cancer. He was born on October 31, 1956 at the Darlington Memorial Hospital, the third child of Archie and Elaine (Burns) Bredeson. He was his mother's "little Halloweenie." He attended Holy Rosary School and graduated from Darlington High School in 1975. He married Sonya Junk in East Dubuque, IL on November 19, 1977 and together they raised two beautiful daughters. They divorced in 2005. John was a truck driver for 40 years and fittingly named his business John's Farm and Home. He was an owner/operator, and the semi-trucks were always on the road. The highways of the US were embedded in his head. His favorite run was to Oregon State. If trucking was his passion, horses were his pleasure. The only thing that kept him home was a trail ride. He loved his horses and trail friends. He could do anything he put his mind to; if it was a thought, it was an action. He was generous and had a big heart, was quick-witted, and loved to joke and laugh. He was quick to lend a helping hand or piece of equipment and always willing to hop in the truck to help his many customers; he had friends and acquaintances nationwide. All his many friends rallied around him in his final months to visit and take him to music venues to enjoy country music and dance, especially to see his favorite band, Rainbow Bridge.

He is survived by two daughters: Nicole (Todd) Kitzerow of St. Charles, Iowa; Kari (Scott) Shearer of Dodgeville;

four grandsons: Cody & Ty Kitzerow and Austin & Carson Shearer;

his sister, Suzi Herbst of DeForest;

his special cousin and godmother, Vicki Redfern of Watertown;

and his brother-in-law, Bill Barry.

He is further survived by nieces: Stacy Barry-Coffey and Kim Barry;

nephews: Keith and Kyle Herbst;

an uncle, Ted Burns;

numerous cousins and special friends: Charlie, Dave, Tom and Patti, Vicki, Willy and Joanie;

and special, special friend LouAnn Richardson who saw to it that he could stay in his home and get to Rainbow Bridge.

He was preceded in death by his doting parents Elaine (1975) and Archie (1989) and his beloved sister, Judy Barry (1985).

Mass of Christian Burial will be at 11:00 am on Friday, July 31, 2015 at Our Lady of Fatima Parish, Holy Rosary Catholic Church, 104 E. Harriet Street, Darlington, WI, with Fr. John Bosco Pudhota officiating. Visitation will be held from 4:00 - 7:00 pm on Thursday, July 30, 2015 at STEIL CAMACHO FUNERAL HOME, 206 E. Harriet Street, Darlington, WI.

His sister, Suzi, would like to thank all his friends and health care team, especially Dr. Michael Koltz, Dr. Michael Frontier, Paul Gavins, and all the caring staff at Dean and Agrace who supported John and her and cared so compassionately for John in his struggle since January 2014 with this deadly glioblastoma. God Bless you all abundantly.
