After serving in WWII, he returned home, met his beautiful bride and married the former Rachel Heasty on July 30, 1945. He farmed and also worked as a U.S. Letter Carrier until retiring. Then, he owned and operated a self-service gas station for many years in Mt. Horeb, WI. On May 17, 1976, John was born again when he trusted Jesus Christ as Lord and Savior. Shortly thereafter, John and Rachel joined with several others in founding what would become Mt. Horeb's Evangelical Free Church. He later was active in the Sound Doctrine Fellowship of Mt. Horeb.
