ALBANY - John Arthur Aeschliman, age 82, of Albany, passed away peacefully at Collinwood Elderly Care Home, Brodhead, on May 13, 2012. He was born on August 11, 1929 in Barneveld, WI, the son of John and Alice (Rikli) Aeschliman. He married Ruth Phyllis Dunphy on November 13, 1950 at St. Rose Catholic Church, Brodhead.

John grew-up Clarno Township, with his four siblings, where he helped his father make cheese. He attended Monroe schools. John hauled milk for Herbie Hendrickson, hauled livestock for Ralph Luedy, and hauled for Continental Grain of Janesville for 36 years.

He is survived by his wife, Ruth, Albany; five children: Susie Kinder, LaCrosse, WI, Dan (Ruth) Aeschliman, Albany, Joan (Pat) Alderman, Orfordville, Julie (Craig) Bredeson, Roscoe, IL and Angie (Dean) Bavery, Oregon, WI; eight grandchildren: Brian (Amy) Kinder, Woodbury, MN, Kelly (Travis) Lay, LaCrosse, WI, Meghan and Kristen Bredeson, Roscoe, IL, Andrew and Jill Alderman, Orfordville, Erin and Anna Bavery, Oregon, WI; four great-grandchildren: Harper and Hudson Kinder and Madelyn and Cameron Lay; and a sister, Pearl Aeschliman, Belleville, WI. He was preceded in death by his parents and three sisters, Hulda Rieder, Evelyn Babler and Ruth Aeschliman.

A Memorial Mass will be held at 11 a.m., Thursday, May 17, 2012, at St. Patrick's Catholic Church, Albany, with Father Michael Moon presiding. Visitation will be held from 4 p.m. until 7 p.m., Wednesday, at the D.L. NEWCOMER FUNERAL HOME, BRODHEAD. Donations can be made to the Alzheimer's Association.
