BROOKLYN/ALBANY - JoAnne M. Nelson, age 75, of the Brooklyn/Albany, Wisconsin area, died Thursday, July 24, 2008 at Collinwood Elder Care in Brodhead, Wisconsin. She was born June 11, 1933 to Jesse and Hazel (Smith) Lloyd in Brooklyn, Wisconsin. She married Laverne Nelson on August 23, 1952. She was a long time member of the Albany United Methodist Church.
She is survived by her son, David (Chris) Sprecher of Sauk City, Wisconsin; daughter-in-law, Brenda Nelson of Madison, Wisconsin; five grandchildren: James (Nicole) Nelson, Nick Nelson, Chad Sprecher, Angie (Kevin) Volk, Becky (Matt) Slotty; and three great-grandchildren; two brothers, Kenneth (Roberta) Lloyd of Evansville and Roger Lloyd of Brooklyn, Wisconsin; three sisters, Joyce Lisser of Albany, Ruth Hall of Spring Green and Roberta Hartools of Albany; her aunt, Myrtle Elmer, Albany; and many nieces, nephews and friends.
Preceded in death by her parents; husband; her sister, Loretta Lisser; and son, Michael Nelson.
Funeral services are 1 p.m. Saturday, July 26, 2008 at the Albany United Methodist Church. Pastor Pat Soddy will officiate. Friends may visit on Saturday at the Church from noon until time of service. Burial will take place at Mt. Hope Cemetery, Brooklyn. The Sharer-Bifulk Funeral Home is entrusted with the care of the family.
