Jerry L. Wuethrich, age 65 of Monroe, died unexpectedly on Monday, May 30, 2016 at the Monroe Clinic Hospital. Jerry was born on March 15, 1951 in Monroe, the son of Paul F. and Ruth (Bleiler) Wuethrich. He attended Spring Creek rural school and graduated from Monroe High School in 1969. Jerry was united in marriage to Elizabeth Ripp on April 4, 1970 at St. Victor Catholic Church. He farmed on the Wuethrich 5th generation family farm in Clarno Township until 1995 and because of his interest in farm machinery, Jerry continued doing repair work for many neighbors. He has been employed as a machinist at Kuhn Knight in Brodhead for the last 19 years. Jerry was baptized and confirmed at Stavers St. Peters United Methodist Church, was a member of the Monroe Moose Lodge #754, was an avid outdoorsman, enjoyed bowling, and the yearly deer hunt with the neighbors. Above all, he loved time with his family especially his grandchildren, and just being at the farm.

He is survived by his wife, Elizabeth Wuethrich of Monroe; two children, David (Kim) Wuethrich of Monroe and Julie Wuethrich of Madison; two grandchildren, Amy and Kurtis; his mother, Ruth Wuethrich of Monroe; a brother, William of Campbell, CA; and two nephews, Steve and Jason. He was preceded in death by his father in 2010; an infant son, Aaron; a sister, Donna Brunhoefer; and his sister-in-law, Gloria Wuethrich.

Funeral services will be held on Saturday, June 4, 2016, at 1:00 p.m., at the Newcomer Funeral Home, Monroe, with Sue Hall officiating. A luncheon will follow at the American Legion Post #84. Visitation will be at the funeral home on Saturday from 10:00 a.m. until the time of service. Inurnment will be in Calvary Cemetery at a later date. In lieu of flowers memorials in Jerry's name are suggested to the Cystic Fibrosis Foundation. Condolences may be given at www.newcomerfuneralhome.net.
