Jeanette E. Goecks nee (Slocum), 64, of Beloit, WI died Saturday, October 31, 2009 in her home surrounded by her loving family.
She was born November 14, 1944 in Waukegan, IL, the daughter of William Earle and Leona Miller Slocum. Jeanette married Roger Goecks on July 15, 1961 in St. John's United Church of Christ, Monroe, WI. Jeanette and Roger moved to Orfordville, WI in 1962 and lived there for 28 years until their move to Beloit, WI in 1991.
Jeanette was a self-employed Mary Kay consultant until her retirement in 1990. She had also worked as a cook at Parkview High School and as a bus driver in Orfordville, WI. Jeanette was a member of the Beloit Historical Society and the Beloit Garden Lovers Club. She dearly loved her family, was an avid gardener, bowled for many years and was also a loyal Green Bay Packer and Brett Favre fan.
Survivors include her husband of 48 years, Roger Goecks of Beloit, WI; two sons, David (Sue) Goecks of Lannon, WI and James (Tricia) Goecks of South Beloit, IL; five grandchildren, Danielle, Jaimie, Allison, Nathan, and Aaron; three sisters, Norma Jeanne Johnson of Tampa, FL, Lois (Richard) Kassel of New Port Richey, FL, and Joann Baker of Port Richey, FL; several nieces and nephews.
She was predeceased by her parents, sister, Darlene Geier, and twin brothers in infancy.
Funeral services will be 10:00 a.m. Wednesday, November 4, 2009 in the Daley Murphy Wisch & Associates Funeral Home and Crematorium, 2355 Cranston Road, Beloit, WI with Pastor Wendy Slaback officiating. Burial will be in East Lawn Cemetery, Beloit, WI. Visitation will be Tuesday from 5 to 7 p.m. in the funeral home.
Memorials may be given in her name to the University of Wisconsin Cancer Research or the Beloit Regional Hospice.
