MONROE - Jean Irene Boston entered Eternal Life Friday, April 10, 2015 at age 89. Jean was born in Jacksonville, Illinois on October 18, 1925, the only surviving child of Elsie Helen (Christle) Bergquist and Gust Bergquist. She attended MacMurray College in Jacksonville, Illinois. She married James T. Boston on March 7, 1945 in Riverside, California, where he was stationed with the Army Air Force. They made their home in Ottumwa, Iowa in 1950 where her husband was employed by John Morrell & Co., and moved to Monroe, Wisconsin in 1972 where he accepted the position of Controller of St. Clare Hospital. Jean greatly enjoyed her position as a CNA at St. Clare Hospital for four years until her retirement. She had a great passion for caring for others.
She is survived by her daughter Barbara Borenitsch of New Berlin, grandchildren James (Emily) Borenitsch of Waunakee, Jason (Erica) Schilt of Pardeeville, Cory Schilt (Jack Sieburg) of Chicago, and great-grandchildren Elliot and Eva Borenitsch, and Tanner Schilt.
She was preceded in death by an infant brother in 1923, her mother in 1955, her father in 1957, son-in-law Brad Harness in 2006, husband James Boston in 2008, son-in-law Jon Schilt in 2011, daughter Tamara Schilt in 2011, daughter Jami Boston in 2013, and granddaughter Jessica Borenitsch in 2013.
The family wishes to extend their heartfelt gratitude to the Monroe Clinic's palliative care team for their support in her final days. Special thanks to her long-time neighbors and friends for their many kindnesses.
As per her wishes, she will be cremated and requested no services. In lieu of flowers, donations to Monroe Clinic Hospice would be appreciated. The Newcomer Funeral Home, Monroe, is assisting the family.
