James L. Wilde, age 70 of Monroe, died on Monday, November 6, 2017 at his home. He was born on February 3, 1947, the son of Edwin and Alice (Holcomb) Wilde.
James was born in the family home, where he also passed away. James was a graduate of Monroe High School.
James and Kathy were married on August 12, 1967.
James worked for Carter Machine Shop as a welder and fabricator and later worked for Monroe Truck Equipment for over 23 years.
He enjoyed camping, fishing, jigsaw puzzles and game nights with family and friends. He also enjoyed bowling, having coffee with the boys, and spending time with Wonder.
He was a member of the Auxiliary Police Department and District Commissioner for the Boy Scouts.
He is survived by his wife, Kathy, son, Lenny (Linda) Wilde, grandchildren: Dylon, Michyl (Mercy) Wilde, Collyn, Tristan and Ciara, sisters, Judy (John) Trout, Sandy (Mike) Niffenegger.
He was preceded in death by his parents and brother, Richard Wilde.
Memorial services will be Friday, November 10, 2017 at 7:00 p.m. at Shriner-Hager-Gohlke Funeral Home 1455 Mansion Dr. and 18th Ave., with Pastor Jeff Cole officiating.
A private burial will be held at Greenwood Cemetery at a later date.
Visitation will be Friday, November 10th, from 4:00 p.m. until time of service at the funeral home.
