BRODHEAD - James "Jim" L. Olson, age 68, of Albany, passed away after a long battle with Parkinson's disease on Thursday, March 14, 2013. He was born on August 13, 1944 in Monroe, WI, the son of Roger "Bud" and Elvira "Happy" (Eggen) Olson. Jim married Rosemary S. Harvey, daughter of John and Lois Harvey, in Brodhead, WI on May 12, 1979.

Jim graduated from Albany High School in 1962. Jim was a farmer and later was employed by the Village of Albany. He was a loyal, loving husband, a hard-working provider for his family, and was extremely proud of his children. Jim enjoyed farming, road farming, reading history and country western books, watching the Brewers and Packers, going out to eat and spending time with his grandchildren.

Jim is survived by his wife, Rosemary; his children, Michael (Jamie) Olson, Brodhead, Georgia (Mark) Grossen, Edgerton, WI; grandchildren Alysha and Garrett Grossen and Ella Olson; a brother, Dan (Lorraine) Olson, Brodhead; sisters, Susan (Richard) Oliver, Monticello, WI, Evie (Keith) Schwartzlow, Brodhead; brother-in-law, Ronald Colden, Brodhead; and numerous nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents, sisters Julie Olson, Beth Colden, and a brother, Gary Olson.

Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m., Monday, March 18, 2013, at the D.L. NEWCOMER FUNERAL HOME, BRODHEAD, WI, with Pastor Pat Soddy officiating. Burial will be in Hillcrest Cemetery, Albany, WI.
