James A. "Rosey" Rosebrook, age 79 of Argyle, WI, passed away as a result of Bladder Cancer Monday, March 8, 2010, at Memorial Hospital of Lafayette County in Darlington, WI, surrounded by his family. He was born August 5, 1930, in Amboy, IL, the son of John and Leah (Weiss) Rosebrook. Rosey graduated from Orangeville High School in 1948. He was united in marriage to Carol Miller on August 11, 1951 in Freeport, IL. Rosey lived in Freeport until being drafted in to the Army in 1951 where he worked as a medic in Germany. He was honorably discharged in 1953. In December of 1956 they moved to rural Cedarville, IL. In 1967, he began working for Kelly Springfield as a Millwright. In 1979, they moved to rural Argyle where he has resided since. Rosey retired in 1991.
Rosey is survived by his wife: Carol at home; three children: Michael (Pam) Rosebrook of Cedarville, John Rosebrook of Freeport, and Kelly (Peter) Raschk of Oxford, WI; two honorary children: Bonnie Germain and David Rosebrook; eight grandchildren; three step-grandchildren; five great-grandchildren; three step-great-grandchildren; and several nieces. He was preceded in death by his parents.
Rosey was a member of Argyle American Legion Post #251. He was an avid outdoorsman who loved animals. Rosey raised show birds and had a heart for any animal that was in distress and would do his best to nurse them back to health.
