MONTICELLO - Jack R. Phillips, age 77, of Monticello, WI passed away on Sunday, January 4, 2015 at his home.
He was born on January 6, 1937 in Chattanooga, TN, the son of Foster and Thelma (Freeman) Phillips. After graduating from high school in Tennessee, Jack began his career in machine maintenance-working in the Chicago area, central Wisconsin and in Monroe at Avonmore and Saputo until his retirement in 2004. He also farmed in the Pittsville area for 5 years. Jack and Marlene Thorp were married on March 26, 1983 in Monticello.
He loved the country life-fishing, gardening and anything outdoors, and was a master at the craft of woodworking.
He is survived by his wife Marlene, son John (Kathy) Phillips of Pittsville, WI, daughters Cindy (Mark) Yaan of Monticello and Diana (Sergay) Turmashova of New Glarus, Mike (Renee) Thorp, Jim (Sheryl) Thorp and Diane Albright all of Monroe, 15 grandchildren and 11 great-grandchildren.
No Funeral arrangements are pending per Jack's request. A private family burial will be held at a later date.
