Iva Mae Scoville

BELOIT - Iva Mae Scoville, age 81, passed away on Saturday, September 19, 2009, at her home. She was born on January 16, 1928 in Monroe, WI, the daughter of Edward and Amy (Carter) Burkhalter. She married Roland C. Scoville on June 6, 1957. He passed away on April 17, 1982.

Iva had been employed by the Wisconsin Telephone Company for 37 years, retiring in 1985. She was a member of the Luther Valley Church and the Telephone Co. Pioneers. She enjoyed many hobbies including painting, stitchery, bingo, crocheting and time spent up north camping with family and friends.

Iva is survived by a son, Edward (MiCha) Scoville, Newark Township, a daughter, Lois (Douglas) Bliss, Brodhead, two sisters, Dona Mauerman, Monroe, and Carol (Robert) Meythaler, Brodhead, 10 grandchildren, 17 great grandchildren, several nieces and nephews, and a very special friend, Stacy Sarakinis, Beloit. She was preceded in death by her husband, parents, and a brother and sister-in-law, Rodney (Ann) Burkhalter, and a brother-in-law, Melvin Mauerman.

Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m., Wednesday, September 23, 2009. At East Luther Valley Church, rural Beloit, with Pastor Mary Froiland officiating. Burial will be in Greenwood Cemetery, Brodhead, WI. Visitation will held from 5:30 p.m. until 7:30 p.m., Tuesday, September 22, 2009, at the D.L. NEWCOMER FUNERAL HOME. A memorial fund will be established.
