PECATONICA — Illinois State Police District 16 Commander, Lieutenant Joseph Blanchette, announced District 16 enforcement figures and activity for the month of Dec. 2021.

Illinois State Police District 16 Troopers issued 404 total citations and 370 written warnings during the month of Dec. Speed violations accounted for 184 citations. Six citations were issued for occupant restraint violations and 13 enforcement documents were issued for distracted driving violations.

Troopers investigated 41 traffic crashes and assisted 83 motorists. One hundred four commercial motor vehicle inspections were completed with 9 drivers and/or vehicles being placed out of service.

Troopers made 11 arrests for driving under the influence and 27 criminal arrests. Four enforcement documents were issued for Scott’s Law violations. 

District 16, which encompasses Jo Daviess, Stephenson, Winnebago, and Boone Counties, had 4 traffic fatalities in December.
