JANESVILLE/JUDA - Isabelle V. Matzke, 87, of Janesville, WI, formerly of Juda, WI, passed away and went to be with her husband, Russell Matzke on their wedding anniversary, Saturday, May 17, 2008. Isabelle was born on December 20, 1920 in Juda, WI, the daughter of Edwin and Minnie (Moldenhauer) Haberman. She grew up on a farm owned by her family near Juda, graduated from Juda High School and attended Madison Business College. She married her husband, Russ, on May 17, 1941. Isabelle was a very active member in the United Methodist Church her entire life belonging to Mt. Zion United Methodist Church in Janesville and Zion United Methodist Church in Juda. Isabelle spent her entire life giving to others and was a Sunday School teacher, Girl Scout leader, school board member, hospice volunteer and delivered Meals On Wheels.

She is survived by four children, Beth (Richard) Langer of Fort Atkinson, WI, Jane Walmer of Milton, Alan (Jane) Matzke of Monroe, Jon (Bambi) Matzke of Janesville; grandchildren, Jeanne (Jim) Schulenburg, Scott Langer, Michael, Teagan and Jessica Walmer, Emily and Jennifer Matzke, Cassandra and Matthew Edwards; a great-grandson, Nicolas Schulenburg; her brother, Roger Haberman; special nieces, Kay O'Connell, Peggy Bussard, other nieces, nephews, cousins and friends. She was preceded in death by her husband, Russell on April 5, 1987. She was also preceded in death by her sister, Ida Regina Chambers.

A visitation will be held from 5 to 7 p.m. Wednesday, May 21, 2008 at Henke-Clarson Funeral Home, 1010 N. Wright Rd., Janesville. Funeral services will be at 10 a.m. Thursday, May 22, at Mt. Zion United Methodist Church, 2130 Mt. Zion Avenue, Janesville, with Rev. Maribel Celiz officiating. Burial will follow in Mt. Vernon Cemetery, Juda, WI. Memorials may be made to Mt. Zion United Methodist Church or HospiceCare, Inc.

Isabelle's family would like to thank Grant, Shelly, Sunny and the staff at HospiceCare, Dr. Mark Hartlaub and Evonne McCoy for your loving care. You are Angels among us. Thanks also to the staff at Cedar Crest.
