MONROE - Helen L. Rundhammer, age 91, died Monday, March 24, 2008 at Monroe Manor Nursing Home. She was born on March 16, 1917 in Monroe, the daughter of August and Emma (Krupke) Kurth. She graduated from Monroe High School in 1935. Helen married Vilas Rundhammer on October 21, 1961 at the Little Brown Church in Nashua, Iowa. She worked as a secretary at the phone company and later became manager of Commercial operations. Helen was a member of St. John's United Church of Christ.

She is survived by several nieces and great-nieces: Carol (Everette) Collins of New London, WI; Janice (Roger) Severson of Madison, Marilyn (Joel) Castro of West Allis, Laura (Larry) Cap of Naperville, IL, Lisa Ganson of Burlington, WI, Jennifer Ganson of Milwaukee, WI and many other relatives and friends. She was preceded in death by her parents; husband; two brothers, Walter and Harold; and three sisters, Lillian Stauffacher, Nellie Kurth and Esther Kurth.

Funeral services will be held at 1:30 p.m. on Thursday, March 27, 2008 at Shriner-Hager-Gohlke Funeral Home, with Reverend Gretchen Sylvester officiating. Burial will be in Greenwood Cemetery, Monroe. A visitation will be held from noon until the time of service on Thursday at the funeral home. Memorials may be given in Helen's name to St. John's U.C.C.
