Helen F. Kubly, age 93 of Monroe, died on Sunday, October 20, 2013 at the New Glarus Home. She was born on July 8, 1920 in Winslow, Illinois the daughter of Ben and Frieda (Ruch) Schultz and attended Green Bush Country School.
She kept house for Louise Ivey. She also worked at the Court House drawing farm maps.
Helen and Walter H. Kubly were married on September 4, 1937 at St. John's United Church of Christ by Pastor P.A. Schuh.
She was a lifetime member of St. John's United Church of Christ.
Helen farmed with her husband in Dutch Hollow, was an excellent cook and baker, enjoyed gardening, canning, sewing, family babysitting, crafts, playing cards and made many quilts for family and friends.
She is survived by her daughter, Janet Hauri of Monroe, sons, Kenneth Kubly of Monroe, Harvey (Patty) Kubly of Monticello, Donald H. Kubly of Monroe, sister, Marlene Geigel of Monroe, grandchildren: Paul and Bill (Jan) Hauri, Aaron (Kayla Mohoney) Kubly, Rachael Kubly, Katie Rasmussen, step-grandchildren: Jeffery (Tanya) Knoup, Pamela (Michael) Day; 7 step-grandchildren and 6 great-grandchildren.
She is predeceased by her parents, stepfather, Fred Weiss, husband, Walter in 1998, sister, Marian Stocker, daughter-in-law Christine Kubly.
Funeral services will be Thursday, October 24, 2013 at 11:00 a.m. at St. John's United Church of Christ with Rev. Tiff Bates officiating. Burial will follow at Greenwood Cemetery.
Visitation will be Wednesday, from 4:00 to 7:00 p.m. at Shriner-Hager-Gohlke Funeral Home 1455 Manison Dr., and 18th Ave. in Monroe.
