Helen B. Digman, age 97 of Monroe, died Tuesday, January 31, 2017 at St. Clare Friedensheim. Helen was born on December 13, 1919 in Brodhead, the daughter of Harry and Elsie (Rhyner) Daubert. She graduated from Monroe High School and worked as a secretary for the Green County Extension Office until her marriage to Kendall C. Digman on January 27, 1945 at St. John's United Church of Christ. Helen farmed with her husband in Monroe Township until his death on February 20, 1981. In the following years, Helen continued to help her son Stephen milk cows. She was an active member of St. John's United Church of Christ where she taught Second grade Sunday school, sang in the choir, spent many hours visiting church members at local nursing homes, and volunteered for many years cooking for funeral luncheons, anniversary open houses, and other events. She served as the Town Clerk for Jordan Township for several years, was an active member of the Monroe American Legion Auxiliary and Monroe Moose Lodge, and helped deliver Meals on Wheels.

She is survived by three children, Stephen (Heidi) Digman of Monroe, Aaron (Audrey) Digman of Monroe, and Tamara (Gregory) Trojanowski of Stratford, CT; five grandchildren, Julie Wuthrich, Cindi (Todd) Wittlinger, Jill (Jason) Benner, Elizabeth and Kendall Trojanowski; two great grandchildren, Eric and Courtney Wuthrich; and a sister-in-law, Helen Mae Kundert of Washington. She was preceded in death by her parents; husband; a brother, John Daubert and a brother in infancy.

Funeral services will be held on Saturday, February 4, 2017, at 11:00 a.m., at St. John's United Church of Christ with Rev. Kathleen Rinear officiating. Interment will follow in Greenwood Cemetery, Monroe. Visitation will be at the church on Saturday from 9:00 a.m. until the time of service. In lieu of flowers, memorials are suggested to St. John's United Church of Christ in Helen's name. The Newcomer Funeral Home, Monroe, is assisting the family.
