Hazel G. Miller

Hazel G. Miller, age 95, of South Wayne, died on June 26, 2014 at the Lafayette Manor in Darlington. She was born on May 31, 1919 on the Simonson Homestead off Springbrook Rd., in Wiota Township, the daughter of Simon and Sena Lund Simonson.

Hazel and Harold "Jake" Miller were married on December 31, 1950. Jake and Hazel farmed in the South Wayne area for many years, groomed horses in Florida, Illinois and Wisconsin and worked at the Village Inn in South Wayne. She was an active member of the Wiota Lutheran Church.

Hazel is survived by sister, Clara Johnson, Ripon, Wisconsin, 5 foster children and several nieces and nephews.

She was predeceased by her husband, Jake in 2000, 2 brothers and 3 sisters.

Memorial services will be held Tuesday, July 1, 2014 at 11:00 a.m. at the East Wiota Lutheran Church with Rev. Luke Smetters officiating. Burial will be in the East Wiota Lutheran Cemetery.

Visitation will be from 10:00 a.m. until time of service at the church.

Hanson Funeral Home is serving the family.

Everyone is invited to wear the color red.
