Gordon J. Blum, 67, of Juneau and formerly of Monroe passed away on Tuesday, July 26, 2016 at the Beaver Dam Community Hospital surrounded by his family.

A memorial gathering will be held at the Koepsell-Murray Funeral Home in Beaver Dam on Monday, August 1, 2016 from 3 p.m. until the time of the memorial service at 5 p.m.

Gordon was born the son of John and Dorothy Blum on December 8, 1948 in Monroe. He was a 1966 graduate of Monroe High School. He married Beverly A. Frey on March 20, 1971 in Rockton, IL. He was employed with John Deere of Horicon for 34 years until his retirement in 2012.

Gordon was an avid hunter who especially enjoyed deer hunting. He enjoyed watching the Badgers and Packers. Gordon will be remembered as a person who loved to paint anything and everything. He was an animal lover especially his cats.

Gordon is survived by his wife, Beverly of Juneau; his children: Teresa (Bill) Haymes Jr. of Cottage Grove and Jenifer (Christopher) Sprague of Killdeer, IL; two grandchildren: Maxwell and Clara Sprague; his parents: John and Dorothy Blum of Monroe; his sister, Jean Blum of Lake City, FL; and further survived by aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.

He was preceded in death by his father and mother-in-law: Hilbert and Rosella Frey.
