Glorene A. Stauffacher, age 80 of Monroe, died Friday, September 16, 2016 at U.W. Hospital, Madison. She was born on February 11, 1936 in Monticello, the daughter of Herman and Alma (Lueck) Arn. She graduated from Monticello High School. Glorene married John V. Stauffacher in 1953 in Monroe, he died in 2004. She worked at The Monroe Times for several years, then went to work for a flower shop in Belleville. Glorene was a member of Monroe United Methodist Church. She enjoyed dancing, gardening, and flowers. She loved her dogs, Lucy and Katie.
She is survived by 5 children: David Stauffacher of Eagle River, WI, Linda (David) Emmerich of Verona, Diane Brunner of Perry, KS, James (Shelly) Stauffacher of Albany, and Janet (Mike) Crisman of Belleville; 8 grandchildren: Kimberly (Gary) Vandivier, Tiffany (Michael) Ripp-Stamey, Brianna Emmerich, Ryli Stauffacher, Rian Stauffacher, Jamie Brunner, Larisa Stauffacher, and Jamison Stauffacher; 2 great grandchildren: McKenna and Maxwell Vandivier; sisters: Janice Schmid and Beverly (Jerry) Pederson, both of Monticello. She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, and a brother, Gary in childhood.
Funeral services will be held at 11:00 am Wednesday, September 21, 2016 at Monroe United Methodist Church, with Pastor Randy Booth officiating. Burial will be in Greenwood cemetery. A visitation will be held from 10:00 am until 11:00 am Wednesday, at the church. SHRINER HAGER GOHLKE Funeral Home is assisting the family. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be given in Glorene's name to the Green County Humane Society.
