Glenn C. Schwend, 87, of Monroe, died on Friday, October 30, 2015 at Pleasant View Nursing Home. He was born on January 4, 1928, in Belleville, the son of Nelson and Lillian (Zweifel) Schwend.

Glenn and Viola Zentner were married on October 21, 1949 in Monroe.

He served in the U.S. Army during World War II.

Glenn was a mail carrier for the Monroe Post Office for 33 years, retiring in 1995 and he also worked for the American Auto Center as a bookkeeper and salesman for many years.

He was a member of the Monroe United Methodist Church, Loyal Order of Moose #754. He also enjoyed bowling, playing cards and fishing and hunting with his grandsons.

He is survived by his wife, Viola of Monroe, children: Kathy (Todd) Lincicum of Monroe, Charlie (Kim) Schwend of Aurora, CO; Kristine (Jeff) Albertson of Monroe; grandchildren: Doug (Tiffany) Kundert, Jason (Amy) Kundert, Christopher (Jessie) Kundert, Gabriel (Olga Mari) Schwend and 5 great-grandchildren. He is also survived by a brother, Wilfred (Ethel) Sandridge of New Glarus, and sister, Elaine (Harold) Ruchti of Monroe.

He is preceded in death by his Parents; and brothers, Eugene and Earl.

Funeral services will be held on Tuesday, November 3, 2015 at 11 a.m. at Monroe United Methodist Church with Pastor Randy Booth officiating. Burial will follow in Greenwood Cemetery.

Visitation will be Monday, November 2, from 4 to 7 p.m. at Shriner-Hager-Gohlke Funeral Home in Monroe. Condolences may be sent to the family at: shriner111.com
