Fredrick J. "Fritz" Amacher, age 66 of Monroe, Wisconsin, died Thursday, January 28, 2010 at VA Hospital in Madison. He was born January 7, 1944 at Monroe, the son of Sindolf and Helen (Disch) Amacher and attended Monroe Schools. Fritz served in the U. S. Army Signal Corps from 1962 to 1966.

Fredrick and Gloria Holton were married. Fritz worked as a Heavy Equipment Operator and was a member of Loyal Order of Moose Lodge #754 and Zilmer Riley American Legion Post #84. He enjoyed water skiing, scuba diving, sky diving, fishing, poker, and dancing.

Surviving are his former wife, Gloria Amacher of Monroe; son, Michael Amacher of Monticello; daughter, Michelle Meier of Monroe; brothers, Don Amacher, Gary (Sandy) Amacher, Dale (Tracy) Amacher, and Larry (Deb) Amacher, all of Monroe; sisters, Sandi (Don) Schoville, Cindy (Greg) McNett, and Karen Wirth, all of Monroe; and grandchildren, Laura Meier of DeKalb, IL and Dustin Meier of Monroe. He was predeceased by his parents; brothers, Roger, Robert, and Dean Allen Amacher; and granddaughter, Brandi Marie Meier.

At Fritz's request, there will be no visitation or service.

Memorials to the American Cancer Society in Fritz's name would be appreciated.
