Frances Voegeli Hoskins Tiffany, age 89 of Monticello and Wausau, found peace on August 17, 2008 in Wausau.
Frances was born July 28, 1919 in Monticello, Wisconsin, the daughter of Jacob and Lillian (Weiss) Voegeli. She attended Voegeli Rural School, graduated from Monticello High School in 1937 and Madison Business College in 1939. Fran was employed as a legal secretary for a law firm in Madison prior to working for Wisconsin Power and Light Co. of Madison for several years.
She married John B. (Jack) Hoskins on September 15, 1942 in Monticello. In 1947 Frances and Jack returned to Monticello where Fran worked at the former Loveland Law office for her brother, Royal J. Voegeli and later for Randall Elmer.
Fran was a "people person" and a successful businesswoman. As a Stanley Home Products dealer and unit manager she became friends with many people, forming loving and lasting relationships.
In 1995 she married Joe C. Tiffany of Wausau, her childhood sweetheart, and together they shared a wonderful life.
Fran was a member of Zwingli United Church of Christ of Monticello where she was a charter member of the Ruth Circle. Fran was also a charter member of the Monticello Amstutz-Marty American Legion Post #256 Auxiliary.
Survivors include her husband, Joe C. Tiffany of Wausau; a son, Douglas (Dianne) Hoskins of Muskego; a daughter, Jean (Richard) Bloomberg of Brookfield; four step-children: Jeff Tiffany of Wausau, Carolyn Harms of Pewaukee, Thomas (Michele) Tiffany of Milwaukee, and Peter (Diane) Tiffany of Bloomington, MN.; four grandchildren: Carissa (Vince Freitag) Hoskins, Jessica (Robert) Woznicki, Sarah (Patrick) Gibbs, and Anne (Brian) Veit; nine step-grandchildren: Brian (Michelle) Harms, Greg Harms, Ann (Ray) Hessil, Pam (Tim) Koch, Elizabeth Tiffany, Richard (Lori) Bloomberg, Bill (Jane-Marie) Bloomberg, Steven (Susan) Bloomberg, and Amy (Brian) Sandlass. Frances also had 8 great-grandchildren and 14 step-great-grandchildren. She was further survived by a sister, Virginia (Charles) Schnetzler of Madison; a sister-in-law, Alice Voegeli of Monticello and many loving and devoted nieces, nephews, great-nieces and great-nephews.
She was preceded in death by her first husband in 1980, her parents, and two brothers, Royal J. and Howard F. Voegeli.
Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. on Friday, August 22, 2008, at the Zwingli United Church of Christ in Monticello with Reverend Lawrence Balleine officiating. Interment will be in Highland Cemetery, Monticello, with a reception to follow at the church. Visitation will be at the church on Friday from 9 a.m. until the time of service. Memorials may be given in Fran's name to the Zwingli United Church of Christ or American Diabetes Association.
