Floyd Harlow Andrews, age 84, went by the wayside on August 5, 2017 surrounded by his family.
He is the son of Harlow and Nora (Phillips) Andrews. Floyd came into this world in Jordan Center, WI, with his twin brother Lloyd on January 16, 1933, delivered by his grandmother because the doctor couldn't get there in time.
Floyd grew up in Green County Wisconsin and later moved to Beloit, WI, where he was a 1951 graduate of Beloit Memorial High School. He married Donna Gaille Inks in 1951 and together they raised 3 children, Cheri, Steve, and Mark. Later in life he found love again when he married Donna McKearn in 2000. They spent eight wonderful years together and she brought much joy to his life.
He began his career at Quigley Smart as an apprentice in Beloit and had a lifelong career as a tin smith and a proud Sheet Metal Union man. Floyd was also employed by Zimmerman Plumbing and Osborne Plumbing, retiring in 1986. He often said that he never worked a day in his life, because he loved what he did so much.
Floyd was an avid hunter and fisherman. He was a long time member of the Newark Gun Club and the Star Zenith Boat Club in Beloit, where he enjoyed the camaraderie and especially the card playing. Floyd had a passion for the sports of riding ATV's and snowmobiling, continuing to enjoy them until the age of 80. He owned a cabin in Tripoli, WI for 20 years and loved being there, especially with his family and friends. Nothing made him happier than to have the cabin full of people enjoying themselves.
He will be dearly missed by his children, Cheri (Alan) Gibeaut of Endeavor, WI, Steve (Tina) Andrews, and Mark (Sharon) Andrews both of Beloit, WI; grandchildren, Melody (Randy) Thompson, Joshua (Shelley) Andrews and Jennifer (Daryl) Loveland; great-grandchildren, Evan, Eliot, Allison, Jackson, William, and Natalie; step children, Cyndy, Tim, Colleen, Michael, and Frank; sister-in-law, Nancy Andrews; many step grandchildren and nieces and nephews.
He is preceded in death by his parents; twin brother, Lloyd; and wife, Donna McKearn Andrews.
The family would like to express their appreciation to American Way - Portage, UW Hospital - Madison and Agrace Hospice Care Center - Fitchburg, WI for their kind and compassionate care.
