New Glarus Police

NEW GLARUS - An ambulance was dispatched:

- At 1:45 a.m. Saturday, May 26, to an unspecified location in the village for a young child having difficulty breathing.

- At 2:17 a.m. Sunday, May 27, to an unspecified location in the village to transport a person to an area hospital.

NEW GLARUS - A power influx caused by a nearby lightning strike at 2:06 a.m. Saturday, May 26, in turn caused the New Glarus Fire Department's alert siren to sound off and the Glarner Park baseball diamond to light up. A Green County deputy reset the alarm and turned off the ball diamond lights. No other problems were reported or observed.

Lafayette County Sheriff

DARLINGTON - An ambulance was dispatched:

- At 5:27 a.m. Sunday, May 27, to a residence on Doughtery Creek Road in Green County.

DARLINGTON - An area fire department was dispatched:

- At 4:42 a.m. Saturday, May 26, to a Clay Street in Darlington for a tree and utility box that caught on fire after lightning hit.

- At 2:32 p.m. Saturday, May 26, to a barn fire on Lake Road in the Town of Argyle. The barn was reported to be fully engulfed when discovered by a passer-by. Rangers from Yellowstone Lake assisted with traffic control in the area.
