Enoch "Eddie" Huston

Enoch "Eddie" Huston age 86, of Monroe, died Thursday, May 28, 2015 at his home with his loving family by his side. Eddie was born August 29, 1928 in West Wheeling, Ohio, the son of John and Pricilla (Simms) Huston. He graduated from Bridgeport, Ohio High School and entered the U.S. Navy in 1946. Eddie served as a Hospital Corpsman in the Pacific Theatre earning the Japanese Occupation Medal, China Service Medal, Victory Medal, and a Unit Letter of Commendation for the Texas City Disaster. He was honorably discharged in 1950. Eddie married Geraldine Fralick on June 17, 1951 in Chicago. He was employed at United Telephone Company for 37 years and worked part time as a Green County Sheriffs Deputy for 25 years before retiring. Eddie was active as a Red Cross First Aid Chairman and Instructor, Boy Scout Blackhawk Area Council Health and Safety Chairman, Civil Defense Shelter Manager, Green County Deputy Sheriffs Assoc., WI Law Enforcement Assoc., Ground Observer Corp, and in the Navy League. Eddie was proud of taking the Badger Honor Flight to Washington D.C. and helping with the Red Cross First Aid Stations for the Palm Sunday Tornado and many Green County Fairs.

He is survived by his children, Doug (Nancy) Huston of Rock City, IL, and their children, Aaron (Ashley), Natalie (Josh), Samantha (Mike), Greg Huston (special friend Kelsey Frame) of Waterloo, WI and daughter Sarah (Matt), Sue (Jim) Shelton of Juda and sons, Ryan and Kyle, Willie Huston of Monroe, Lloyd Huston of Fitchburg and children Savannah (Greg) and Jon, Richie (Laurie) Huston of Sturgeon Bay and sons Matthew and Alexander; a daughter-in-law, Vickie Huston of Monroe and sons Brandon and Clinton; honorary son, Robbie Zumkehr; honorary grandson, David (Rochelle) Keener; a brother, Paul Huston of Grant Pass, OR; and a sister, Ruth (Paul) Sanders of Washington, PA. He was preceded in death by his parents; his wife, Geraldine in 2009; a son, Wayne Huston; and seven brothers and sisters.

Funeral services will be held on Tuesday, June 2, 2015, at 11:00 a.m., at the Newcomer Funeral Home, Monroe. Interment with military rites will be in Kelly Cemetery, Cadiz Township, followed by a luncheon at the Monroe Moose Lodge. Visitation will be at the Newcomer Funeral Home, Monroe, on Monday from 4:00 p.m. until 8:00 and on Tuesday from 10:00 a.m. until the time of service. A memorial fund will be established in his name.
