Emma "Em" Boeck

Emma "Em" Boeck, age 86, of Monroe, died on Tuesday, July 19, 2011 at the Monroe Manor Nursing Home. She was born on September 19, 1924, the daughter of Jacob and Ellen (Fels) Schiess. She attended Warren, IL Schools. Em and Orville Boeck were married on September 20, 1945 in South Wayne. After their marriage Em and Orville farmed in the Winslow, IL area and later Em worked for Oaktron Industries for over 30 years. She was a member of the Order of Eastern Star, St. Omar Chapter #90, Past State Mother Advisor for International Order of Rainbow Girls, and Grand Cross of Colors for Rainbow Girls.

She is survived by her husband Orville of Monroe; sons, J.R. Boeck of Monroe, Lee (Judy Piette) Boeck of Albany, Ron (Lynn) Boeck of New Glarus; daughter, Jacqueline (Richard) Rinehart of Bellevue, WA; brothers, Jacob Schiess of Lena, IL & Robert (Bev) Schiess of Freeport, IL; sisters, Nellie Carstensen of Hollywood, CA & Marie Mason of Monroe; also 8 grandchildren and 13 great grandchildren. She is predeceased by her Parents; brothers, Kenneth & Emil Schiess, and a sister, Mary Lou Rhines.

Visitation will be held from 4:00 to 7:00 P.M. Monday, July 25, 2011 at Shriner-Hager-Gohlke Funeral Home in Monroe.

An Order of Eastern Star, St. Omar Chapter #90 Memorial Service will be held at 7:00 P.M. Monday, July 25, 2011 at the funeral home. Burial will be at a later date. A Memorial Fund is being established in Em's memory in lieu of flowers.
