Janesville - Elizabeth A. "Bette" Hassenfelt, age 74, of Janesville, passed away early Wednesday, May 10, 2017, at Cedar Crest following a brief illness. She was born July 21, 1942 in Monroe, WI, the daughter of the late Chester & Helen (Shea) Dillon. She attended schools in Monroe and was a graduate of Monroe High School.

On November 9, 1963, she married Richard W. Hassenfelt at St. Victor's Catholic Church in Monroe. Bette worked for over 30 years for the Holiday Station Store as a sales clerk until her retirement.

She was a member of Nativity of Mary Catholic Church.

Bette loved to travel, and even taking the occasional trip to the casinos! She and Dick enjoyed camping, and she always loved tending to her flower gardens at home. She was a very avid Green Bay Packer backer! Her greatest joy was spending time with her family, and especially with her grandchildren and great-grandson!

She is survived by her husband of almost 54 years, Dick; her 3 children, Ron (Rose) Hassenfelt, of Janesville, Randy (Katie) Hassenfelt, of Beloit, WI, and Brenda (John) Hessenauer, also of Janesville; her sister, Maureen Theiler, of Milwaukee, WI; her 2 brothers, Terry (Darlene) Dillon, of Brodhead, WI, and Tim Dillon, of Monroe, WI; her sister-in-law, Susan Dillon, also of Monroe; her in-laws, Pat Flannery, Jerry Hassenfelt, and Myron (Geraldine) Olson; her 4 beloved grandchildren, Kaarin, Lindsey, Sam, and Ashley; her dear great-grandson, Cameron; and by nieces, nephews, and friends, including her dear friend and neighbor, Mary Johnson. Besides her parents, she was preceded in death by her brothers, Frank Dillon and Chester Dillon, Jr., her brothers-in-law, Donald Flannery and Gene Theiler, and sister-in-law, Ann Hassenfelt.

A Memorial Mass will be celebrated at 12:00 P.M. on Wednesday, May 17, 2017 at NATIVITY OF MARY CATHOLIC CHURCH, 313 E. Wall St., with Fr. Rob Butz officiating. Interment will follow in Milton Lawns Memorial Park. Friends may call on Wednesday from 10:00 A.M. until the time of Mass at 12:00 P.M. at the CHURCH.
