Elaine D. Thomas, 90, of Pearl City, passed away on November 10, 2017. She was born on January 24, 1927 in Green Co. Wisconsin to Clarence and Florence (Malkow) Witt. She graduated from the Deaconess School of Nursing. She married James Thomas on August 21, 1955 at the Oak Ave. Church in Freeport. She worked as an R.N. and was a farm wife. She was a member of Trinity United Methodist Church, and belonged to the Happy Hours Unit of Stephenson County Home and Community Education Association.
Survivors include her three sons: Jeffery (Becky) Thomas, Robert (Connie) Thomas, and Brian Thomas; four grandchildren: Benjamin (Kim) Thomas, Sarah Thomas, Tyler Thomas, and Jennifer Thomas; sister: Edith Wohlford; brother-in-law: John Ammon; sister-in-law: Violet Witt; and step grandchildren: Jeanette, Karla, Michael, and Nathaniel.
She is preceded in death by two sons: James E. Thomas and Douglas Thomas; one grandson: Trever Thomas; two brothers: Ed Witt and Duane Witt; sister-in-law: Orla Ammon; brother-in-law: Emery (Frieda) Thomas; brother-in-law: Del Wohlford; and step grandson: Matthew.
Funeral services will be held on Wednesday November 15, 2017 at 10:30 AM, at Trinity United Methodist Church in Freeport, with Pastor Eddie Eddy officiating. A visitation will be held at Trinity Church on Tuesday November 14, 2017 from 5-7 PM. A memorial has been established in her memory for the Trinity United Methodist Church.
