Eileen Marie Hendrickson Weiler, age 92, of Brodhead, formerly of Monroe, died on Wednesday, May 22, 2013 at Wood's Crossing in Brodhead. She was born on September 23, 1920 in rural Argyle, the daughter of Alvin and Merle (Corbin) Hendrickson.
Eileen and Edwin W. Weiler were married on June 8, 1939 in Dubuque, IA. She worked at Oaktron Industries and was a homemaker and caregiver.
Eileen enjoyed crocheting, knitting & sewing, playing cards, board games, going out to eat, dancing, traveling, gardening, boating & fishing, but most of all enjoyed spending time with family and friends.
Eileen was a member of Adams Lutheran Church, rural Argyle, and the Churches Ladies Aid and since moving to Monroe she has been a member of Grace Lutheran Church and the Ruth Circle since 1956.
She is survived by her daughters, Marilyn (Jack) Hauser of Brodhead, Sharon (Jerry) Smith of Davis, IL; 5 grandchildren; 9 great-grandchildren; 8 great-great grandchildren and 1 on the way; sister-in-law, Avis Hendrickson; brother-in-law, Francis Fox also nieces and nephews. She is predeceased by her parents; husband, Edwin; brother, Homer Hendrickson; sister, Dorothy Fox; also 1 great-grandchild.
Funeral services will be Wednesday, May 29, 2013 at 12 noon at Grace Lutheran Church, 1025 15th Ave., Monroe, with Pastor John Tabaka officiating. Burial will be in Woodlawn Cemetery in Argyle. A visitation will be held on Wednesday from 11:00 A.M. until time of service at noon at the Church. Memorials may be directed to the Grace Lutheran Church or charity of one's choice in Eileen's memory. Shriner-Hager-Gohlke Funeral Home is serving the family.
