Edwin W. Jaggi, age 87, of Brodhead, passed away on Monday, January 10, 2011, at Mercy Hospital in Janesville. He was born on June 10, 1923 in Verona, WI, the son of John and Katherine (Matzner) Jaggi. He married Shirley Dahlk on August 20, 1947 in Verona, WI
Ed grew-up in Verona and was a Cheesemaker in the Brodhead area for many years, retiring in 1988. He was a member of St. John's United Church of Christ, Monroe, The Wisconsin Cheesemaker Association, Fraternal Order of Eagles, Bicknell Masonic Lodge, Brodhead, Green County Shriner's, Zor Shrine, and Scottish Rite Bodies. Ed was also an avid Wisconsin Badger fan for over 60 years.
He is survived by his wife, Shirley, Brodhead, two daughters, Carol Jaggi, Janesville, Christy Jaggi, Brodhead, two sisters, Bertha Schlueter, Madison, Katherine "Kay" Searles, Brodhead, and a sister-in-law, Eva Jaggi, Argyle, WI He was preceded in death by his parents, his step-father, Albert Gust, three brothers, Edwin, in infancy, Adolph and Melvin Jaggi, four sisters-in-law, Joyce Maurer, Sylvia and Jessie Dahlk, Leona Jaggi, five brothers-in-law, Harland and Rolland Dahlk, Marvin Schlueter, Robert Searles, and Paul Maurer.
Funeral services will be held at 11:30 a.m., Thursday, January 13, 2011, at St. John's United Church of Christ, Monroe, WI, with Rev. Mike Heath officiating. Burial will be in Greenwood Cemetery, Brodhead. Masonic services will be held at 9:30 a.m. at the church fellowship hall.
