Dwayne Edward Larson, age 62 of Monticello, WI passed away on Saturday, April 23, 2011. He was born on October 20, 1948 in Monroe, WI, the son of John L. and Lennice (Hughes) Larson. Dwayne grew up in Darlington and graduated from Darlington High School in 1966. He enlisted in the United States Marine Corps in 1967 and was honorably discharged in 1971. Dwayne was united in marriage to Nita J. Penniston on June 28, 1980 in Madison, WI.

Dwayne's career in the printing industry began at the Republican Journal in Darlington while he was in high school. He continued printing in the Marine Corps followed by jobs at various printing companies in Dubuque, Freeport, Kansas City and Madison. His skill and experience became the foundation for Belleville Printing Company, Inc., a family business that has operated in Belleville, WI for 23 years and has successfully transitioned to the second generation.

Dwayne is survived by his wife: Nita at home; children: Zachary Larson, Belleville, WI; John (Heidi) Larson, Pleasant Prairie, WI; Julie Larson, West Dundee, IL; Benjamin (Erin) Seffrood, Madison, WI; and Andrew Seffrood, Richfield, MN; grandchildren: Daniel, Talon and Garrett Larson, Mariah and Whitney Potts, Delaney Seffrood and Annabelle Tartar; his sisters: Soni (Leon) Wolfe, Darlington; and Paula (Gary) Radl, Lodi, WI; brothers: Jack Larson; David Larson, Dubuque, IA; and Keith (Mickey) Larson, Bismark, ND; brother-in-law: Cliff Penniston (Gloria Hartmann), Belleville; sisters-in-law: Glenna (Gary) Jackson, Madison; and Carol (Steve) Lindenberg, Beaverton, OR; and many nieces, nephews, and cousins. Dwayne was preceded in death by his parents.

Dwayne was known for his hard work, love of nature, good humor, and optimistic attitude. His love and encouragement gave his family and friends a source of strength and many treasured memories.

Funeral services will be held Wednesday, April 27, 2011 at 11:00 A.M. at Erickson Funeral Home (508 Park Place, Darlington, WI, GPS users: 130 West Cornelia Street) with Rev. Larry Hakes of Darlington United Methodist officiating. Burial will be at Lamont Cemetery with graveside rites to be accorded by Bates-O'Brien-Howe-Wiegel American Legion Post #214 of Darlington. A visitation will be held Tuesday, April 26, 2011 from 4:00 until 8:00 P.M. at Erickson Funeral Home in Darlington. Online condolences may be left for the family at www.ericksonfuneralhome.com.
