Duane R. Weiss, age 61, of rural Monroe, Wisconsin, died Monday, April 20, 2009 at his home. He was born on December 9, 1947, the son of Leonard and Hilda (Marty) Weiss. Duane farmed on the family farm his entire life. When Duane quit milking he continued working the land and tending his animals which he dearly loved. In his later years he also worked for the Township of Monroe in different capacities. Duane's greatest enjoyment came from his travels out West and to Minnesota, where he loved to go elk hunting and to go fishing. He was a person that loved the out of doors, enjoying nature and being with his friends.
Duane is survived by many cousins and many friends. He is predeceased by his parents, a sister and a brother in infancy.
A memorial service will be held at 1 p.m. on Saturday, April 25, 2009 at the Shriner-Hager-Gohlke Funeral Home, Monroe. There will be no visitation. Officiating will be Rev. David Busker.
