MONROE - A block of 13th Avenue was closed three hours Monday morning after a Monroe driver T-boned a semi truck, according to police.

Daniel D. Callaway, 43, was cited for failure to stop at a stop sign at 7:44 a.m., after he reportedly ran a stop sign on 10th Street and collided in the intersection with a semi northbound on 13th Avenue.

No injuries were reported by Callaway and his three passengers or the driver of the semi, Jeffrey A. Finley, 51, New Lisbon.

The impact of the Callaway's car burst the semi's fuel tank, and the Monroe Streets Department closed off the block of 13th Avenue between 9th and 10th Streets to clean up spilled fuel. The Monroe Fire Department also assisted at the scene.

The semi was moderately damaged and towed. The car was severely damaged and also towed.
