Dorothy M. Phillips, age 92, of Monroe, formerly of Woodford, died on Tuesday, January 23, 2018 at the Monroe Clinic Hospital. She was born on April 24, 1925 in Woodford, the daughter of Severin and Mabel (Johnson) Olson.
Dorothy and Ronald Trickel were united in marriage at East Wiota Church in 1948; she later married Robert Phillips on July 18, 1976 on the Phillips family farm, rural South Wayne.
She worked at the chocolate shop and later was employed with Green County Pre-Pak for 15 years.
She was a member of the Church of the Nazarene. She enjoyed music and playing the piano, but her greatest joy was spending time with her family.
She is survived by her children: Rhonda (Johnny) Pruitte, of Arlington, TX; Ellen (Thomas) Phillips of South Wayne; Timothy (Stacey Salyer) Trickel of Rockton; Glenn Trickel, New York; step-children: Kevin (Melissa) Phillips of Monroe; Deborah (Jeff) Meyer of Monroe, Charlotte (Darell) Bendorf of Harvard, IL; Nancy (Kevin) Curran of Browntown; Neva (Keith) Berg of Tulsa, OK; sister, Barbara Timm of Monroe; 21 grandchildren and 29 great-grandchildren.
She is preceded in death by her parents, husband, Robert, June 19, 2006; brother, Clayton Olson, sisters, Amy Larson, Mildred Huffman and Delores in infancy.
Funeral services will be held on Monday, January 29, 2018 at 11:00 A.M. at Wiota Lutheran Church in Wiota, with Pastor Paul Watkins of the Church of the Nazarene and Pastor Traci A. Maass of Wiota Lutheran Church officiating. Burial will be in East Wiota Cemetery.
Visitation will be Sunday, January 28th, from 2:00 to 4:00 P.M. at the SHRINER-HAGER-GOHLKE funeral home in Monroe.
