Dorothy L. Goecks, age 91, of Monroe, died on Saturday, May 9, 2015, at Graceland Manor. She was born on May 15, 1923, the daughter of Alfred and Lillian (Morel) Buhlmann and graduated from Monroe High School.
She grew up in the Clarno, Argyle, Monroe and Juda area, where her father was a Swiss Cheese Maker.
Dorothy graduated from Juda High School in 1941 and worked at the Commercial and Savings Bank in Monroe until her marriage to Ervin L. Goecks in 1943 in Sierra Madre, CA. After World War II they moved to Monroe where Ervin was employed by the Monroe Police Department for 27 years.
She is survived by her children: Louis (Joyce) Goecks of Janesville; Marie (Sam) Lynn of Tacoma, WA; Jane (John) Burdick of Monroe; three grandchildren: Andrea Palm, Adam (Amy) Burdick and Martha (Sean) Bonson; sisters, Rose Marie Schafer, Reinbeck, IA; Betty (Richard) Randolph, Townsend, TN; a brother, Harry Buhlmann of Monroe; and one great-grandchild, Anna Olson.
She was preceded in death by her husband, in 1994, her parents, and a brother, Charles.
Per Dorothy's request there will be no visitation and a private family burial will be in Greenwood Cemetery.
