NEW GLARUS - Dorothy Augusta Kuenzi, age 94, passed away on Saturday, April 25, 2015 at the New Glarus Home. She was born on September 20, 1920 in Verona, WI to her parents Wayne and Julia (Gafke) Palmer. Dottie attended the Paoli Grade School and graduated from Belleville High School. On March 21, 1941 she was united in marriage to William Kuenzi, Sr. at the Zwingli United Church of Christ-Paoli. Dottie had worked as a CNA at the New Glarus Home for 33 years. She was a member of the Swiss United Church of Christ in New Glarus and member and officer of the Stuessy-Kuenzi American Legion Post #141 Auxiliary. Family was very important to Dottie whether it was spending time, providing a meal, or helping however she could.

Dottie is survived by her sons William (Eloise) Kuenzi Jr. of Blanchardville, WI, Ronald (Diane) Kuenzi of Imperial Beach, CA, Wayne (Bonita) Kuenzi of Madison, WI, Bruce (Betty) Kuenzi of Belleville, WI, and Ed (Sue Thorp) Kuenzi of Monticello, WI, twenty five grandchildren, forty six great-grandchildren, nine great-great-grandchildren. She is further survived by a brother Lester (Barbara) Palmer of Paoli, WI, sisters-in-law Rose Flannery and Elizabeth Henning both of New Glarus, WI, brother-in-law Werner Kuenzi of Madison, WI, nieces, nephews, and friends.

She was preceded in death by her parents, husband Bill, son Dennis, siblings Earl, William, Floyd, Stanley, Julius, Elmer, Florence, and Esther, a granddaughter Kendra, and a great-granddaughter Jordan.

Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, May 2, 2015 at the New Glarus Home Chapel, 600 Second Ave., New Glarus, WI (access via the Elm Drive entrance) with the Rev. Bill Wineke officiating.

A gathering of relatives and friends will precede the service from 9:00 a.m. to 11:00 a.m. at the New Glarus Home Chapel.

The Zentner-Beal Funeral Home of New Glarus is assisting the family.

The family would like to thank the staff of the New Glarus Home for their kind and compassionate care.
