Donald R. Sellnow
Donald R. Sellnow, age 87, of Monroe, died on Thursday, March 15, 2018 at Monroe Clinic Hospice Home. He was born on October 24, 1930 in Monroe, the son of Roy and Helen (Broughton) Sellnow. He grew up on a dairy farm on Rechsteiner Road and attended Searles school in Albany.
Donald and Ardelle Monte were united in marriage on October 11, 1950 in Monroe at St. John's United Church of Christ.
Donald farmed in the Albany and Browntown areas for most of his life. He later was a semi driver.
He enjoyed horses, parades, playing cards, playing drums in several bands, and going to the Casino with his wife Ardelle.
He is survived by his wife Ardelle, of Monroe; six grandchildren: Kendra, David, Ryan, Angela, Kara, and Aaron; and 14 great-grandchildren; sister, Carol Foesch of Brodhead; nieces and nephews; He is also survived by a special family in Texas, Peter and Darlene Adamson.
He is preceded in death by his parents, son, Kenneth in 1971; and daughter, Karen Indergand in 2009; sister, Shirley Purdue; brother-in-law, William Foesch, nephew, Gary Buholzer.
Funeral services will be 11 a.m. Tuesday, March 20, 2018 at Shriner-Hager-Gohlke Funeral Home in Monroe with Pastor Cal Schaver officiating. Burial will follow in Saucerman Cemetery.
Visitation will be Tuesday from 10 A.M. until time of service at the funeral home.
