Donald M. Schild, age 78, of Argyle, WI passed away on Monday, March 30, 2015 at Valley Baptist Hospital in Harlingen, Texas. He was born in Long Beach, CA on January 25, 1937, the son of Donald H. and Margaret (Oswald) Kuhlemeyer. Donald graduated from Pearl City High School in 1955. He served in the United States Navy from 1955 until 1959. He was united in marriage to Judith Lamm on February 19, 1966 in Freeport, IL. Donald farmed in the Argyle area, worked at the Browntown Foundry and Monroe Truck Equipment, retiring in 2009.
He is survived by his wife: Judith of Argyle; one son: Leland (Melody) Schild of Argyle; one daughter: Jackie Siegel of Monroe, WI; seven grandchildren: Samantha, Nathan, Nicholas, Matthew, Sabrina, and Michael Siegel all of Monroe, and Andrew Schild of Argyle; one great-granddaughter: Mia Notter of Monroe; one brother-in-law: Robert (Peg) Hendrickson of Freeport; two sisters-in-law: Barbara Lamm of Freeport, and Sue Schild of Madison, WI; one aunt: Verla Kuhlemeyer of Freeport. seven nieces and nephews; and many cousins and friends. Donald will be sadly missed and fondly remembered by his family and friends. He was preceded in death by his parents; his step-father: Andrew C. Schild; one sister: Pat Hendrickson; one brother: A. Larry Schild; and his longtime companion dog Simba.
Donald was a Charter Member of Stephenson County Antique Engine Club in Freeport. He was a member of Thunderbridge Fly Wheelers Club in Argyle. Donald was an avid fan of the Green Bay Packers, Wisconsin Badgers, and Dale Earnhardt. He was also a Chicago Cubs fan until moving to Wisconsin when he became a Milwaukee Brewers fan.
Memorial services will be held Thursday, May 14, 2015 at 11:00 A.M. at Freeport Chapel Hill Memorial Gardens in Freeport, 2514 State Hwy 26. Burial will follow where military graveside rites will be accorded. A visitation will be held on Wednesday, May 13, 2015 at Erickson Funeral Home in Argyle, 801 Milwaukee Street from 4:00 P.M. to 7:00 P.M.
