Delmar Jay Morgan age 88 formerly of Browntown, died Wednesday, May 27, 2015 at St. Elizabeth Manor in Footville. Delmar was born September 24, 1926 in Bloomington, IL, the son of Wilson and Beula (Bishop) Morgan. Delmar entered the U.S. Navy in 1943 and served as a storekeeper in Okinawa, Japan during WWII before his honorable discharge in 1947. Following the service, Delmar became a cowboy in Montana, worked on the Central Railroad as a head brakeman, and was a core driller at the Table Rock Dam in Branson, MO. He married Helen Mae Martin on May 16, 1953 in Monroeville, Ohio. Delmar later worked as a long haul trucker while establishing the H-D Ranch in IL before moving to Wisconsin to work on a dairy farm until 1972. Most recently he drove truck and raised registered Appaloosa horses until retiring in 1989. He enjoyed boxing in the Navy, reading, raising horses, and turkey hunting.

He is survived by his wife of 62 years, Helen Morgan of Footville; six children, Sandra Morgan of Monroe, Leslie (Barbara) Morgan of Monroe, Linda (Keith) McGuire of Bollingbrook, IL, Cynthia (Eric) Otteson of Poynette, Kathleen Morgan of St. Paul, MN, and Christine Morgan of Monroe; ten grandchildren; two greatgrandchildren; and a sister, Donna Kimble of Browntown. He was preceded in death by a daughter, Beppe Morgan in 1982; and a granddaughter, Ashley Krupke in 1986.

Private family services will be held at a later date with inurnment in Greenwood Cemetery, Monroe. The Newcomer Funeral Home, Monroe, is assisting the family.
