Delbert O. Blum age 83 of Monroe, Wisconsin died on Friday, April 25, 2008 at his home with his family at his side. He was born on May 8, 1924, the son of Oscar and Martha (Blanc) Blum.

Delbert and MaryAnn Meichtry were married on January 22, 1945 at St. Victor Catholic Church in Monroe. He was a third generation farmer on the family farm where he lived his entire life.

Surviving are his wife, MaryAnn Blum of Monroe; son, Robert (Deb) Blum of Monroe; daughters, Linda Blum of Middleton, Gloria (John) Etter of Middleton, Rosann (Terry) Hoover of Appleton, and Marcia (Greg) Foster of Phelps; brother, Herman (Mildred) Blum of Edgerton; sisters, Dorothy (John) Blum of Monroe and Ann (Tom) Saunders of Monticello; 16 grandchildren; and 9 great grandchildren. He was predeceased by parents; son, Delbert Blum Jr.; grandson, Nicholas Foster; and sisters, Mary Lou Blum and Rose Carwile.

Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. on Monday, April 28, 2008 at SHRINER-HAGER-GOHLKE FUNERAL HOME, 1455 Mansion Dr. and 18th Avenue in Monroe. Burial will follow at Calvary Cemetery in Monroe.

Visitation will be from 2 to 4 p.m. on Sunday at the funeral home.

Memorials to Monroe Clinic Hospice or The Apostolate to the Handicapped in lieu of flowers in Delbert's memory would be appreciated.
